Narrative

My dissertation examines how the Madrid Movida is remembered in recent years through museum exhibits, novels, films and documentaries. I look at how the Movida was used in the 1980s to create a local and international image for the city and autonomous community of Madrid, and how this image was recycled beginning in the early 2000s with commemorative events and personal accounts of memories of the Movida.
